This “About” page is about me, for sure, so you’ll have some idea what I’m… um … about. But it’s also about you.

Me first. ☺️

I’m an inveterate observer of human nature, writing stories about all kinds of people, some of whom happen to be gay or transgender or bisexual or intersex—people whose destinies are not determined solely by their sexual orientation or gender identity. I write endings that are realistically hopeful rather than sugary and/or "happy ever after."

I also write, mostly free, articles and thought-provoking content about all kinds of things, and queer-focused material in particular. As I like to say: The only thing wrong with being queer is how some people treat you when they find out. You may quote me.

If you’re queer or an advocate, you won’t want to miss out on the variety of topics I’ll cover here. We’ll talk about issues that are important to you, and you’ll see how I work those issues into my novels.

What’s in it for you

Most of my posts here on Substack are free to all, including the first few chapters of my latest novels. Subscribers willing to pay a little something will have access to all future chapters, both written and in audio. To give you a taste, you can read/listen to Chapter 1 of For Love of God, Book 1 in my Blessed Be series. Chapter 2 and Chapter 3 are also available free, as are Chapters 1-3 of the next two books in the series (For Love of Self, and For Love).

What’s in it for me. And for you, too.

So that’s what’s in it for you. For me? Encouragement, and—if you become a paid subscriber—a little remuneration. Writing is an expensive business. It’s not just the time (about a year per book for me). It’s not just the cost of cover photographs and design. It’s not just the cost of getting the work formatted for several different formats. It’s not just the cost (in time and money) of maintaining a website. It’s all of that, and even a little more. This is why I’m making my books available here, as well as on retail sales channels, for my readers. But (and I admit to bias, here) these books are worth paying for. If you agree, I welcome you as a paid subscriber.
